NHAF 7th Annual Inter School Art Competition 2018

Over 500 Students Participate In Sit And Draw Art Competition

Mumbai, 6th February 2018:  Niki Hingad Art Foundation with CFBP organised the seventh annual art competition, the most widespread youth talent contest, inviting schools and students all over Mumbai to participate in an art-drawing contest titled ‘Sit and Draw Art Competition’. Over all 500 children participated from 56 schools.

Talking about the initiative, Ms. Niki Hingad, Founder NHAF, Chair person Young Artist Committee CFBP, said, “This was the 7th year of our competition. The event was blessed with the presence of Mr. Shekhar Bajaj. This event saw a humongous enthusiasm and met stiff competition. It is a great way to encourage the freedom of art in young talents. We at CFBP believe that true consumer artists paint their own selves. Hence, we promote art without any boundaries by letting these children explore their inner selves, encouraging their own language of art. Over the years we have introduced our young artists to various art techniques like pen and ink, charcoals and many more at National Sports Club of India. We have also arranged activities at Mumbai Fest, Rotary Fest this year for them to explore their immense imagination.”

All entries were evaluated by a panel of judges from the Sir J. J. School art fraternity and were rated on the basis of creativity and originality of the artwork. The jury selected a total of 31 winners in 6 categories from Mumbai. CFBP-NHAF then announced the winners at the art competition. The competition was followed by a special enriching ART talk from Shekhar Ji Bajaj, Niki Hingad, Ms. Mahua Ray, Ms. Nuriya Rao at Sir J. J. School of Art Institute. The participants also included a group of children from Different NGO’s.

Always Color Outside the Lines

“I now reach for the colors I’ve never tried.

And Splash violet, melon, and chartreuse

all over my work.

Splatter it on the floor,

if the spirit so moves …

For now is the time to embrace my creativity,

And break all the rules.

In whatever I do,

I now, not worry about staying inside the lines…”

Freedom of Expressions, Spontaneity, Feelings, Creativity …Judge over the creation here.. Is what J.J. is all about. Is what, makes it different from other grounds of contest. Is what NHAF’s base is, ”Let a Child Be A Child”. Being pictorial not always means the best…REMEMBER … The BEST IS ALWAYS IN YOU.
In collaboration with Indian Council For Cultural Relations, ICCR — at Sir J. J. School Of Art.
